What is AQUATOOL?

AQUATOOL is a development environment for Decision Support Systems (SSD) for watershed planning and management or water resource systems. As SSD provides resources to help the analysis of various problems related to the water management.
In addition, AQUATOOL is a research line in continuous development, so in addition to the analysis tools of watershed management, also provides other tools that facilitate the development of related works.

History

More than 30 years of use guarantee AQUATOOL
The first antecedents of the Aquatool environment date back to 1982, when the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and environment of the Universitat Politècnica de València (hereinafter DIHMA) developed the USOCON module of simulation of the management of a Cuenca (Andreu and Marco, 1983a).

The valuable experience achieved so far with this SSD in its application to real planning cases in Spanish (Júcar, Segura, Tajo,..) and foreign basins (Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Bosnia, Chile, Morocco, Algeria, Ecuador, Peru, etc.) They ensure the robustness of the system and its flexibility to model a wide variety of systems. The permanent improvement and addition of profits is aimed at continuing to lead the state of the art in this area of knowledge.
